Anxious & Hairy book cover
[Client: House of Anansi Press]
Anxious & Hairy draws on insights from evolutionary biology, psychology, anthropology, history, and art to uncover what our hair reveals about being human. From bearded female saints to Botoxed brows that dull empathy, hair exposes how biology and culture intersect.
The client’s design brief called for something at once authoritative and whimsical, and with a reference to hair that wasn’t specific to the head . . . but also wasn’t “gross.”
